Is Andy wearing a collar?
His collar is off but he is microchipped so a quick scan by a vet or shelter can identify him and provide contact information.

How old is Andy? Is he in good health?
Andy is 11 years old. He might be a little hard of hearing and has cataracts.

What should I do if I see him?
If you see Andy, please do NOT make eye contact or call him. Due to the length of time he has been on his own, he is now in survival mode and may run if anyone tries to make eye contact, call, or catch him. Keep an eye on him from a distance and call his owner immediately at 781-264-5243 anytime day or night. If you do not reach her, leave a message and call Animal Control at 203-557-3659.

How can I help?

  • Share our website and like our Facebook page.
  • Hand out Andy’s Lost Flyer to neighbors, stores and post the flyer on main streets and intersections (telephone poles – no STOP signs). Hand flyers to your postal carriers, UPS and FedEx drivers, dog walkers, and anyone else you see spending time outside.
  • If you’d like to help us in our search for Andy, visit our Sightings Map to see where Andy was last spotted. Pick an area and drive around or even better, park and walk around. Check around restaurants, dumpsters, and heat sources and look in and around bushes and under cars.

I know what it’s like when your pet is lost and needs your help. I have time to help look for Andy. Lots of it. I drove thru Fairfield & Southport today, which was hard because of all the traffic. Tomorrow I’ll go back to Mill Plain area and work smaller areas on foot or by bike. – Laura / Trumbull CT

Whenever a sighting of a 3 year old Yorkie I lost was sighted, we had the owner give us a bottle of his urine and would sprinkle it around that spot. The Yorkie was following a water creek, like that by the pet store/food shake in Westport/Southport area. She was found two weeks later, two pounds lighter and a lot of ticks. Luckily she stayed in the same area for a few days which was a help to us….by the creek. I’ll keep check on that location to see if Andy comes back. The water and Shack dumpster might attract him….and a warm crawl space some where.

I am done wiping my tears away after reading Andy’s Lost information. I’m a dog mommy myself. My mini-dachshund, Haute Doggee, is 12 years old and like my furry child to me. I know I would pull out all stops if he went missing. I’m in Milford but I know folks in Norwalk, Westport, Trumbull, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, so I’m going to take all your helpful suggestions and push the information out there to my network and social platforms in the hopes that it may help. One suggestion: people should program your phone # into their cell phones so they have it handy for any Andy sightings. I heart is with you and your family, and my prayers for Andy to be returned safely to his family.

I too am a dog mommy. I have a three year old rescue that is like a third child to me. I was out today looking for Andy from Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport to Post Rd in Fairfield (and back again) I post about Andy everyday on FB and am praying that he is found. Perhaps he has found shelter since it is cold. I will keep you in my thoughts and will keep visualizing him coming home to you!!
Do not lose faith….we are all not going to stop until we find him. He is our dog too now.

Hi, I know you have gotten advise and suggestions from probably every source but I guess I’d like to add one. Our rescue group had a dog that slipped his collar and was gone for 3 weeks and we set live traps out to catch him and that is how we caught him. Pretty amazing since he had been transported from Kentucky to Pa (to his foster home) and he slipped his collar in PA. We caught him after 3 weeks. Just a suggestion if it hadn’t been suggested before. I like everyone is praying for Andy’s safe return. Bless you and Andy.
